Past client and study participant Debbie also joined Global News to share her personal experience in struggling to manage debt and its emotional toll.<\/p>\n<p>Watch the clip here, and read more below:<br \/>\n<div class=\"responsive-iframe\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" allow=\"encrypted-media\" src=\"https:\/\/globalnews.ca\/video\/embed\/6536001\/\" width=\"670\" height=\"372\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>\u201cBehind the Debt\u201d | Highlights from the 2019 BC Consumer Debt Study<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sands-trustee.com\/blog\/2019-bc-consumer-debt-study\/\"><em>Read the full 2019 BC Consumer Debt Study here.<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p><u>Emotional, Physical and Psychological Impacts of Debt<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Although BC consumers surveyed in the 2019 BC Consumer Debt Study did report experiencing \u201ctransactional\u201d signs that their debts were problematic, such as only making minimum payments, the top-most reported sign that debts were becoming a problem was overwhelming stress, cited by 67.4% of participants.<\/p>\n<p>From our professional perspective as Licensed Insolvency Trustees, the impact of financial distress is very observable for most clients we assist.
